christmas alone

Today marks my first of probably many Christmases away from friends, family and the comforts of “home.” Other than not having to work, today doesn’t even feel like a holiday. I don’t really have anybody to spend it with, and I guess I’ve got myself to blame for that. I didn’t put any effort into checking the train and bus schedules to go to PA, and I’ve met a limited number of people who actually live in the city, so…

I’ll probably end up seeing some movies, which is fine cuz I wanted to catch up anyway, but man, how lonely is that. Perhaps when I actually have my own apartment in NY, and I’m not living in a dorm building, where most everyone has returned to some home or another, it won’t feel so empty and alone. The upside of all this is that in a week and a day I’ll be on a plane back to Michigan, and in even less time than that, friends from home will be visiting the city, so I have those things to be excited about!

Merry Christmas Eve

My gift to the world is this wonderful new blog where I will share everything and nothing in particular.

I’m sure you’ll be enthralled and just waiting with bated breath for the next installment. For now, enjoy the previous entry, which is a quote from a book I just started reading.
